Christmas Caring 2019

This year, Wellspring is partnering with Amazon for Christmas Caring. This will give our families an opportunity to shop for gifts with and for each other -- and it's all made possible through the generosity of those who support the work Wellspring does with children, families and seniors.

We disrupt your normal evening scrolling to provide you with a ray of Hope! Our Wellspring family has been busy making sure our residents and their families stay connected during this time. As soon as we heard about the need to restrict visitors in order to protect our residents, our technology team at Wellspring immediately deployed iPads and iPhones to our sites in order for our families to virtually connect. Some of our families have gotten very creative with the way they are staying in touch— one family even had a snowball fight with grandpa through the window! Joy is something that is widespread between our staff and the people we serve, and its foundation is Hope. Will you leave a message for our residents in the comments below? We love keeping them connected, and would be thrilled to read them some of your notes! Our prayers go with you and your families! #lookforthehelpers

This is love… Charles is a resident at our skilled nursing facility in Frankenmuth and nothing was going to keep his wife, Delores, and daughter from coming to visit. They even brought his sweet great granddaughter to visit as well! We might have to be creative about the way we show up for others these days, but the word “community” has never meant more than it does now. This is just another reflection of how Wellspring shows Hope to those we serve. More to come…keep watching!

A message and prayer from our president and CEO, Dave Gehm: The occasional call for national prayer goes back to before this nation was founded, as the First Continental Congress made its first official act in 1776, a call for prayer among all the people. Presidents down through our history have often done so, particularly at times of great stress or peril for our nation. President Trump joined this historic tradition by calling for a National Day of Prayer today, Sunday, March 15th. Please join the family of Wellspring as we mark the day with grateful hearts for the blessings of this land and the loving Providence of God. We invite you to meditate on Psalm 91 that points us back to the sovereignty and power of our Loving God, and share this prayer we’ve prepared for the occasion: “Good and Gracious God, You are the God of the young and the old. You are the God of the rich and the poor. You are the God of the meek and the bold. You are the God of the patient and the impatient. You are the God of history and our future. You are the God of paths already taken and what is yet to come. We ask you, God, at this time of plague and pestilence - to protect our nation, our leaders, and our people. We ask you, God, to cover with your divine protection and an extra measure of care those who are most vulnerable among us – the sick and the elderly. We ask you, God, to provide health, patience, and perseverance to those who care for these vulnerable, particularly asking you to watch over the staff of Wellspring who, while caring for their family, are also charged with the awesome responsibility of caring for the families of others. May we prove faithful to the high calling to which we serve… Help us, Lord… Be prepared but not anxious Be aware but not desperate Be vigilant, but not in fear Be joyful, but not clueless Be faithful, but not careless. Be our Hope and Strength, O Lord. Amen” #nationaldayofprayer #March15
