Whitney Frakes is currently completing her graduate internship under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker. She will graduate from Michigan State University in May 2023 with a Master of Social Work degree, making her a LLMSW. Whitney holds a bachelor's degree in community health education and international studies from Northern Michigan University.
Whitney began her social work career in 2018 in family preservation where she continues to provide crisis services as a direct-line worker, and supervisor to parents and children navigating the child welfare system. She has experience working with a variety of issues, including: domestic violence and unhealthy relationships, substance use, depression, anxiety and adjustment to life changes.
Whitney believes no one is hopeless. She loves empowering clients to achieve their goals in a realistic and sustainable way. She recognizes the courage it takes to seek support and is dedicated to building a trusting relationship with clients through honesty, patience and respect. Whitney accepts clients as they are and is ready to support them wherever they are in their healing process.
