The State of Michigan has identified a growing need for mental health services in almost every school district in Michigan. While many schools have school counselors or school therapists, many districts have identified that the need is too great, and they need additional resources when it comes to providing mental health support for their students. In recognition of this need, we’re dedicated to making behavioral health services more accessible. One way we’re achieving this is by partnering with schools to provide counseling services.
How does this work?
Wellspring has more than 120 years of providing intervention and support to children and families in Michigan. Through this work, we recognize that there is not a one size fits all approach to dealing with mental health—and we certainly understand the impact it can have on children who are navigating mental health challenges while experiencing the common stressors that come with being in school.
If your school or district doesn’t have school social workers or therapists or need additional support, Wellspring can step in to help work with children and families. Our therapists have experience in working with IEP’s and can attend multidisciplinary meetings with families to help find the right wrap around services for each student.
