Shameka Wallace, LLMSW, is a limited license clinical social worker with Wellsprisng in our Jackson office. She graduated with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Spring Arbor University, located in Spring Arbor, Michigan.
Following graduation with her BSW, she began her career with the Michigan Department of Corrections as a mental health social worker, helping the incarcerated population. After earning her MSW, she was promoted to the medical social worker for the health center. During her seven years with the department of corrections, Shameka provided therapy and mental health assistance to inmates and inmate families. She has worked extensively with grief and loss, trauma, depression, anxiety and life transitions, which have become her passions.
Shameka adapts her therapeutic approach to fit each individual client’s needs and preferences. Meeting people where they are in their life to help them grow and overcome challenges and difficult circumstances in their life. Shameka strives to create a safe and trusting environment. She involves empathy, validation and a nonjudgmental stance within the therapeutic environment.
